How to Measure for Drawer Organizers
A question we get often is, “How do I measure for drawer organizers?” This is our step-by-step process for how to choose and measure for the right size and type of drawers organizers in any space.
Step 1 – Empty all contents
Empty everything out of your drawer and decide what’s going and what needs to stay. Get rid of duplicates and things you haven’t used in a decade. You want to make sure you are utilizing drawer space for items you need often. The point here is to have organized drawers, full of frequently used items, and are easy to close.
Step 2 – Grab your tape measure
Make sure you measure depth, width and length. When you take measurements, you want to get the interior measurements only to ensure product fits correctly. If you can’t tell the exact measurement (if it’s in between 2 lines), take down the smallest of the two.
Step 3 – Decide what type of drawer organizers you want
Do you want bamboo, acrylic, or white? Do you need a standard utensil organizer or an expandable organizer? Are you going to need to build out your drawer with different size organizers?
Step 4 – Source your product
If we are building out with custom product, we like to grab graph paper and quickly sketch out measurements of the drawer to make sure the organizers fill the whole drawer.
Step 5 – Wipe drawer clean and put in drawer organizers and items
