Should you hire an Organizer in a Pandemic?
Coronavirus and pandemic have become new household words. Who knew 6 months ago we would be using the term “social distancing” or wearing masks in public places on the daily? COVID-19 doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to end anytime soon so I guess it’s time to adjust to our present circumstances.
This new way of life has brought on many challenges all at once. Every adult is feeling strain at work, in their relationships and probably in their bank account. No one is exempt to the effects of the pandemic. It’s freaking nuts out there, am I right?! Am I supposed to buy a red cape and start practicing my greetings from Handmaid’s Tale yet??
While everyone is dealing with a different deck of cards, most of us are finding one common thread of safety. And that’s in our homes.
Home is where we can touch our faces and wear sweat pants all day. We don’t have to overanalyze whether or not to sanitize our hands for the 47th time. Heck, we can even sneeze without feeling as if we are screaming in a monk’s monastery.
Considering how confined we are to our own spaces, it is impossible to ignore how our homes make us feel. Are you finding peace and contentment in your bedroom? Or are you pillaging through heaps of laundry and toys in the living room that bring you daily stress and anxiety?
The real question to ask yourself: Is your stuff getting in the way of your life? Is clutter stopping you from living the kind of life you wish to live? If it’s not, honey, why are you even reading this?! Go live yo best lyyyfe! However, if the piles are becoming so overwhelming that it’s affecting your mood or even your mental health, then honey, it’s time to wave that white flag.
The good news is, there are ample rescue response teams (aka Organizers) eager to help! Life is too effing short to spend it fighting clutter every day like the Black Panther fights to keep the throne.

Many organizers have pivoted or added these services as a way to safely help clients reach there goals with one-on-one guidance. Most use a video chat platform such as Zoom or FaceTime to connect and this can beneficial for clients who have the motivation but just need help with direction.
You may be thinking, I just don’t have time to learn how to organize or I have too many other responsibilities to carve out the time. Which leaves you asking – should you hire an in -person organizer during a pandemic? First, you must take your personal health situation into consideration as well as your family and anyone you come into regular contact with who may be high-risk.
As for us, we have added additional provisions to our client contract to include stipulation for illness – we ask that no one in our homes nor living in yours has had a fever of more than a 100.4 in the last 14 days (for any reason) nor is experiencing any flu-like symptoms such as body aches. We wear gloves, masks and shoe covers for all indoor projects and respect the 6 foot social distancing guideline. Most organizers are implementing similar rules as well.
Whether you hire us or another organizer, our ultimate hope is that clutter does not control your life. No matter how many times the lifeguard blows the stay at home whistle on us, we wish your home to be a place of safety and serenity.
