Meet the Team!

Happy 2020 Friends! Boy, do I love the smell and hope wrapped up in a brand new year. I thought it would be fun to kick off the new year with a little introduction post so you can get to know our team better!

Hiring a Professional Organizer is super intimate – we see the depths of your mess, allll your dirty laundry (figurative AND literal) and get to know you on a level some of your family members may not! We relish not just the external transformation that happens but also the internal one that happens along with it. It seems appropriate you get to know us on a deeper lever too!

When Organized Life Design started in 2014, it was just me (Meggie) for three years! Now in 2020, I am STOKED BEYOND WORDS that we are now a team of five women running this awesome show. I’ve never had to seek out adding another member to our team. As our needs grew and the demand was there, I truly feel it was divine intervention that picked the right badass gal and plopped her right in my lap!

While being a Professional Organizer was a dream since I was 14, I still changed my major 5 times in college until I settled on Business Administration and Spanish Literature! Both extremely useful to owning a small business in Houston, de acuerdo?!
I won’t pretend that organizing for a living isn’t a manifestation of my control freak nature. I like order because it makes me feel safe and well, in control. As we all know, so much of life is out of our control and when my home is clutter free I feel at ease and my anxiety very manageable.
Guess what? I LOVE shoes! Yep! I also love handbags. My closet may be super organized but honey, I am NOT a minimalist. I just keep it in check with all the Pro Organizer Rules of Thumb!
Miriam
I wasn’t “born organized!” I’ve had to teach myself the skill through research, training and experience. That’s how I know YOU can learn it too with our help!
My absolute favorite part of my job is seeing a clients ECSTATIC reaction to their new space, and their excitement for the difference it’s going to make in their everyday lives.
A fun fact about me — I LOVE wrapping gifts. If I could have an entire room dedicated to gift wrap I would!

I’ve always been a great planner. Everything from planning trip itineraries, parties, or even menu planning for the week. My love for order, structure, and details led me to become an organizer! As a Professional Organizer, I find so much joy in helping clients and seeing their happy faces when a project is completed. An organized space brings so much peace in a stressful world. I do know how to let loose though! I’m a native Houstonian and LSU Tiger that’s always having fun! Hanging with my dog, traveling, trying new restaurants, listening to the newest true crime podcast, watching sports, cooking, etc. I’m ready for anything!

While I’ve always loved an organized space, I’m not going to pretend I have always been an organized person.  I have had my fair share of messy closets and piles that have been untouched for weeks (trust me, I will not judge you!).  In my previous life, I was a teacher which is where I found organizing to be pivotal. I found the vital importance of teaching organizational strategies and setting up systems in order for my kids to achieve success.  This is where I discovered that organization can be taught and honestly, everyone could learn a little more about being organized, right?  My goal is to support you throughout organizing your space and help you find simplicity in your daily environment.

I used to get attached to things so easily and found it so hard to part with anything! After moving 12 times in 10 years (yep, might be a world record), I decided that having so many “things” wasn’t what truly made me happy and even sort of made me feel unsettled in my own space. I dove into the whole organizing/minimalist lifestyle and wow things changed fast! I fell in love with the idea of only keeping what truly made me happy and made my home a restful place for me. Organizing for clients fulfills me so much. I love helping others declutter their lives and make their home their favorite space.
